This post is in response to a comment over at Emily Nagoski's Sex Nerd blog. Emily is an outstanding sex researcher who is also an avowed feminist, but she tends to be more reasonable than most academic feminists because she actually studies sexual behavior and response. The issue she raised (and then proceeded to seethe loudly about) was the problem of Islamic immigrant men sexually harassing European women. While I agree that it is a problem that needs to be addressed, I also suggested that Emily's solution -- shaming and imprisonment -- would neither correct their behavior or improve their respect for women. Quite the opposite. But a good ass-kicking would probably get right to the root of the problem and provide a corrective action plan. When asked to elaborate by a commentor, I did, and here it is (slightly expanded): The pragmatic problem is that the men are disrespecting the women in a rude, vulgar, and dangerous way. Not their sexist attitudes, or their lack of empathy, the problem is the behavior. Feminism rests in part on the premise that we live in a well-structured enough culture and society that civil discourse and compelling arguments, in the form of laws, regulation, and cultural institutions, are sufficient to compel behavior. That's a syncretic perspective that grew out of the Enlightenment, Humanism, and indirectly from the Industrial Revolution: the rule of law that regulates our behavior applies equally and impartially to all adult human beings in the society. But it also favors a more feminine strategy of compromise and negotiation, relying on an intact and functioning cultural architecture to provide incentives and disincentives to regulate behavior. For most issues, that's plenty. But for truly criminal issues, or even issues of culturally relevant anti-social behavior in which the miscreant has knowingly violated the social and cultural mores, they have already voluntarily removed themselves from that matrix. If they are not invested in the cultural matrix, then shaming has no power (and Emily's observation of their secretive behavior demonstrate that they know that their behavior is indeed unacceptable...to their own people.) and imprisonment will do little to alter their future behavior. For these men a class about respecting women isn't going to do jack. Absent their own compelling cultural matrix, they're in a strange place where the women act (from a cultural perspective) like "loose" women, and there is little consequence for their behavior. Add in high testosterone levels and a sexually repressive agricultural culture, and it's not surprising to see them pushing the limits of propriety. Shaming and imprisonment don't alter the behavior, they just increase the challenge -- and potential l rewards for success in terms of status. But a masculine solution -- an informal, good ol' fashioned ass-kicking -- has a multitude of benefits. Firstly, it leaves a lasting impression. Every man remembers getting his ass kicked (and the circumstances surrounding it) for the rest of his life. Secondly, it tells them in purely masculine terms that their behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. It's not some boring class taught by a government-paid social worker where they will challenge each other to see how much they can ignore it, it's a direct confrontation of their masculinity by other masculine forces. Thirdly, there's far less paperwork and a much more immediate result.I see it as a failing of feminism not to take into account the nature of masculinity in its attempts to restructure society. Just as gossip works as a subtle social control in a group -- a channel favored by women -- controlled instances of applied violence are used by men as a subtle social control. The problem is that feminism equates all violence with anti-social, anti-female behavior and doesn't appreciate the very pragmatic reality known among Men's Mysteries the world over: the only way to handle testosterone is with an even greater application of testosterone. Not with shaming. Not with imprisonment. But with the simple masculine elegance of an ass-kicking.Feminism exists as a result of the Industrial Revolution (and birth control pills). It does not and cannot exist in an Agricultural society, not as a full-fledged ideology, because the agricultural economy does not favor the conditions that allow women to earn their own income and raise children independently of men -- two fundamental requirements of the feminist movement. Feminism is a product of urbanized industrial civilization, and these immigrants are products of a rural agricultural culture. This kind of cultural clash is inevitable. This kind of sexual harassment is also inevitable until the immigrants sufficiently acculturate to invest in the European urban culture. And this kind of rough behavior from over-grown boys who think they can get away with it needs to be addressed by men in the traditional rural agricultural manner: an ass kicking.Urban culture frowns on casual violence and well it should. Technology and eroded culture institutions have made it possible for one pissed-off teen to do a lot of damage in our society, and we rightly discourage that kind of behavior. But in doing so, we also keep the informal social control of a good ass-kicking from happening as often as it should. As men, we know plenty of guys who have used that to their advantage, relying on the lack of informal or formal consequences to permit gross social and legal violations. There isn't a man out there who doesn't know someone who would positively benefit from a well-applied ass kicking. indeed, the number of assholes and douchebags would decline significantly (or at least their offences would become less heinous) if there were more asskickings.Because the fact of the matter is that when we, as men, allowed women (and feminism in particular) to dictate to us what we could and couldn't do in terms of our own masculinity, they opened the door to douchebaggery and assholishness on an epic scale. If the behavior of men is egregious to women, then there are traditional masculine responses that could be employed outside of state sanctioned violence or imprisonment, but feminism ignores them because they "encourage all violence" and according to some all violence leads to violence against women, by some crazy calculus I don't understand.Violence is a masculine art. Not that it can't credibly be practiced by women, but violence is an aberration of feminine culture. While in a civilized society it is assumed that the state has a monopoly on violence, the pragmatic fact is that our codes of laws are great for establishing absolute standards of adult behavior -- but in terms of boys growing into young men they are insufficient on their own to achieve this without the additional input from men in their family and community. And part of that maturing process is learning how to both take an ass-kicking and appreciating the larger spiritual purpose of an ass-kicking. Lectures don't shame a man into changing his behavior, but getting his ass kicked in front of his friends does the job quickly and efficiently. When feminism destroyed the patriarchy it also destroyed the role of the father or other masculine role-model in this process. In encouraging disrespect towards all masculinity, it eroded the vitally important social control mechanism that men have developed to build good men for the last 100,000 years. In seeking to legitimately protect the innocent from domestic violence, it unleashed the forces of the Puerarchy it finds so distasteful. And shaming and imprisonment just don't work to build better men. It just builds Betas and criminals. Once good men became afraid of the legal consequences of delivering an ass-kicking (and by this I mean a very controlled level of violence very carefully applied) then they stopped, except in extreme circumstances. It's still a terrible risk. But there may well come a time when you, as a man, are presented with an opportunity to consider kicking someone's ass who righteously deserves it. You may fear your own ass getting kicked in return, of course -- there is always a risk to this. But as a Red Pill man understand that you have a responsibility in your community (and to men at large) to help moderate the behavior of your friends and fellow men. And sometimes it's worth risking getting your ass kicked or even arrest to make an important point to a persistent douchebag. And then that gets into the issue of just what a "good man" is. Emily has her idea of what it is. Next time, we'll discuss mine.

Get back with your ex
A failed marriage can be a hard thing to deal with. You spend all that time getting to know someone, trusting someone, only for it to fall flat on the ground. But that is the nature of the beast, taking risks and trying to find that certain someone.
Like most things in life, finding your soul mate is trial and error. Nobody knows everything about everybody, that is why we get to know people so we can better understand them. But people change over time and the person you fell in love with may not be the same person today.
That is why most marriages end in divorce, because we never truly understand someone and it is always a gamble. But do not let that dissuade you. There is still life after marriage. And you will probably end up dating again.
Click to get your ex back
As traumatic and heart breaking as it is, it really is just like riding a bike. It hurts when you fall off but you need to just pick yourself back up and get back on the dating train. Just because your previous marriage failed does not mean you wont find someone else who might be more compatible with you.
The problems you face after marriage is that you are left hurting. You opened yourself up to someone, you made yourself vulnerable and it came around to bite you in the butt. Why subject yourself to that again? Because nobody wants to be alone, we all want someone we can confide in and trust.
So while it may be difficult you should never give up. That does not mean you should walk the same path, though. There are probably reasons why your marriage failed and you would not want to repeat those same mistakes.
The thing you have to keep in mind is that we learn from failure. After you take the time to heal your wounds and move on with your life, you may find yourself in a position where you are able to look back and reflect on your marriage.
Try to find out what went wrong. Were you blinded by love and ignored the warning signs that they weren't your ideal spouse? Did you cause the problems and they simply could not handle it? Did you force yourself to be with someone who didn't deserve you simply because of peer pressure or because you were afraid of being alone?
These are all questions you should ask yourself. When you find out where everything went wrong, make sure you avoid repeating those mistakes. Make sure you find someone you are compatible with. While people do change, they only change on the outside.
The heart of a person never changed so you can get a glimpse of the future by taking note of their true nature. They may seem nice now but there are always warning signs. Just make sure you learn from your mistakes and keep trying, there are seven billion people on this planet, your special someone is out there somewhere. You just have to keep looking until you find them.

How to get Your Wife Back After a Breakup or Divorce

If you are an ardent web browser, you will realize that every year, there is a rise in the number of Internet dating sites and the percentage of users to these sites progress with their creation.
The creation of online dating sites is not what matters. What is questionable is if they can generate more traffic to themselves by providing what they claim to be capable of doing.
You could save time if you use internet dating sites as your principal source for dating
This should be an eye opener for those who cannot carve out some time out of their busy schedules. It is important to note that most singles are more concerned with making it in life in terms of material or academic pursuits. It is equally important that you will need the consortium of a man or a woman to realize some of those aspirations. If you find the time at your disposal limited for these activities, it is rational to say there will be no time to make possible conventional dating. It is therefore imperative to look up to Internet dating sites for the consortium you may be looking for. Using Internet dating sites means you have the comfort of taking a date with someone out of the distress of their homes or job sides. Just think of how long you may be involved in singling out a person and dedicating your time to that person only to be thrown away at the last minute.
Do you value your money when dating?
If yes, make use of Internet dating sites. Have you ever committed to memory all that it entails moving from one scene to the other just looking for someone waiting for you? What of the cost of any subsequent outings? All these costs will be negligible if you eventually achieve your aim of finding your date in that person. What is very frustrating is if the potential date declines to your request. Finding a date through Internet dating sites purges this stress. All you need to do is sign up freely or at a very minimal cost through Internet dating sites. The rest of the exertion will be done by your composure to the potential date. Also remember that good Internet dating sites will provide periods for free trial. So if you have to pay, you will be paying for what you actually want.
Perfecting your proficiency
Internet dating sites are being recommended to lots of beginners in the dating scene. It is not from every opportunity that you must spring up with a partner. Be rest assured that without finding that someone, your everyday interactions with others help bring out and sharpen your talents for the future. Practice makes perfect.
So, ready to go dating on an internet dating site? If you are, do not hesitate anymore. Sitting around and doing nothing will not get you anywhere. Start joining an internet dating site now and look for your love of your life. Who knows that you may one day find your true love and lifelong partner online. So don't just sit there and start joining one now.
Do you want to keep away from the repulsive spending in the form of time and expenses involved in traveling to singles spots, paying admission tickets and amusing yourself? Use Internet Dating Sites which is more cost-effective in the long run in finding your partner.

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18B. Hadley's in 18A. Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.
Review:
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, or Statistical as I will now refer to it, is one of those books that makes me sigh every time I think about it. It's contemporary YA fiction at its best, and kept me up reading late into the night. Once I started it I couldn't put it down, and I was willing to forego sleep to find out what happened to Hadley and Oliver. That's how much I love these people: they feel like friends now, and I want more. Whether I'm going to get it, I don't know, but I'm not above grovelling. Jennifer E. Smith, are you listening?!
Everything starts at an airport, where Hadley is running slightly late. She had to go back for her book, gave herself a papercut and ran into traffic on the way to the airport. She misses her flight, a flight that will get her to her father's wedding in England, and has to wait for the next one, where she's assigned seat 18A. It's because of those few lost minutes that she meets Oliver, a boy booked on the same London-bound flight, and the holder of ticket 18B. What follows is a lovely, lovely day of getting to know each other, which quickly moves into a drama-filled day of stress and emotion. I won't say why, and instead I'll just let you read it and peel away the story layer by layer. It's so worth it.
When I first heard about this book, I thought it would be a cheesy, unbelievable story about two people who meet, lock eyes and vow to spend eternity together. However, that isn't the case. I believed in every word Hadley and Oliver shared and, when their eyes inevitably locked, I felt it. I also wanted to climb into my book and steal Oliver away for myself, but we can't have everything, can we? Seriously though, if I could manifest my perfect boy, it would be him. I imagine him to be a mix of Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Darren Criss (Blaine, Glee), AKA. Swoony and Swoonier. In my mind he has Ed's Britishness and Darren's beautiful hair. *sigh* If any movie casting people are reading this, please see to it that these two audition. Thanks. ;)
Anyway, back to reality. Hadley and Oliver have chemistry, and I'm talking instant chemistry. If they sat next to a bunsen burner, it would flare and light up the room in a second. They're the best contemporary characters I've encountered in a long while, which leads me to my only complaint: I wanted more of them. Hundreds of pages more. The page count is fairly short, but wow could I have read on. As soon as I turned the final page, I wanted to flip back to the beginning and start all over again.
Statistical is like an old-school romance in a contemporary setting: think chance meetings, lingering looks and endless possibilities that all take place within a whirlwind 24-hours. It's the perfect example of how everything happens for a reason, and that even the most irritating displays of self-inflicted tardiness can lead to something way beyond what you imagined. Jennifer E. Smith will make even the hardest of hearts believe in love at first sight, and I think this book will cement her place in the YA contemp world. Readers will fall in love with her story and characters, and I'm sure she'll soon be inundated with requests for a sequel. I'll tell you right now: I will be first in line!

Welcome back to the Top 150 DC Covers of All Time countdown. If you have any questions about what criteria was used to select the covers, you can read the ground rules here in the countdown Prologue. For a complete listing of selections, check out the Top 150 DC Covers Master List. And as always, I strongly recommend clicking on the covers to see larger, better and more detailed versions of these classic covers.Without further ado, here's your selections for Day Three:130) My Greatest Adventure #17October, 1957 -- Ruben Moreira and Jack AdlerThe pencils here were done by Moreira, but it's Adler who needs to be singled out, as he perfected the Grey Tone effect used to make this cover such a standout. Over at the Comics Should Be Good page, their regular feature "Scott's Classic Corner" (no relation) ran a series highlighting Adler's work (which I recommend not reading until I'm done with my list otherwise you're going to be spoiled for several upcoming covers). Adler's Grey Tone covers are some of the most striking images of the 50's and 60's and really pop compared to the regular coloring techniques of the time. I suggest enlarging this one to really see the details. 129) Falling in Love #99May, 1968 -- Ric EstradaIf any genre was ripe for an overhaul in the late 60's, it was romance, which provided the perfect place for enterprising comic artists to explore the pyschedelic movement. Unfortunately, editorial at both Marvel and DC seemed a little hidebound, as few of these examples actually made it to press, but one of the more innovative among those that did is this Estrada cover. And it's nice that someone at DC finally found a good use for those go-go checks. 128) Animal Man #5Winter, 1988 -- Brian BollandBrian Bolland makes his second appearance on our chart with this classic from Animal Man. It's not quite as meta as the famous "Aparo drawing Brave and the Bold" cover (which just missed making the list), but it nicely set the tone for what was undoubtedly the most meta ongoing series in comics history. 127) Star Spangled War Stories #151July, 1970 -- Joe KubertKubert's war books were really pushing the design envelope, as we already saw back on day one of the countdown, and "Star Spangled War Stories "was no exception. Rather than incorporate the logo into the drawing, though, here Kubert was playing around with composition, as he changed the logo's shape, size and location nearly every issue to fit it in to whatever picture he had in mind. Besides being interesting from a design perspective, this moody and evocative cover also marks the first appearance of the Unknown Soldier. 126) Sensation #1January, 1942 -- Harry G. Peter and Jon L. BlummerConsidering this is the first appearance of Wonder Woman, one of the most iconic superheroes in the world, you'd think this cover would be better known than it is. And actually, it's a pretty cool cover; I like the big circle behind Wonder Woman and it's certainly an action packed cover (weirdly, the figure of Wonder Woman was drawn by one artist and the rest of the cover by another). All things considered, I'm not really sure why this isn't as well known as other major milestone first appearances like "Detective" #27 or "Action" #1, but it's too bad because this is a comic that deserves to be better appreciated. 125) The Saga of the Swamp Thing #34March, 1985 -- John TotlebenOkay, so I mentioned in my intro that titles that later became Vertigo series weren't included in my countdown, but technically this issue doesn't fall into that category because they changed the title of this series after #37. So that's the reason for that. But beyond that detail that probably nobody cares about, this cover is widely known thanks to the fact that this is the famous Swamp Thing sex issue, where he and his honey-pie ingest some kind of dope and make psychic brain love to each other. It also happens to feature a really nice cover from John Totleben; those two factors combined are enough to land this on the list despite my complete and total apathy towards Swamp Thing. 124) Adventure Comics #312September, 1963 -- Kurt Swan, George Klein and John ForteIn a story that has been referenced and homaged numerous times, the Legion of Superheroes in this issue drew straws (well, really tiny lightning rods anyway) to determine which of them would sacrifice their life in order to resurrect Lightning Lad. The impact of this milestone story was emphasized by the bold black background shot through with lightning. It's an unusually bold cover during an otherwise boring period for covers on Adventure and at DC in general. 123) Our Army at War #196August, 1968 -- Joe KubertThe legendary Kubert gets his second cover of the day with this unusual "Sgt. Rock "design. I just love the disorienting effect that the alternating blue and white squares create behind Rock's central figure, along with the slightly skewed, forced perspective. This is also one of those few times when I think the word balloon actually adds to the image as well. Overall, this cover -- which came out in 1968, at the height of the Vietnam War -- presents readers with a very different look at Sgt. Rock, one that I think is eye-catching and effective. In other words: cool cover. 122) New Teen Titans #39February, 1984 -- George PerezThis cover from Perez is an interesting case because it "seems" to be an homage to a well-known cover from the first volume of "Teen Titans", this April, 1970 effort from Nick Cardy. That cover just missed making the final cut for our list, but the homage, which is now the more famous of the two covers, didn't. In fact, though, while Perez himself has admitted that this cover is an homage, it's not to Teen Titans #26 at all -- but rather to Amazing Spider-man #50. We'll be seeing a couple more instances of famous homages later on the list, including one case where both the homage and the original made the cut, but in this case I felt that in addition to the Perez version being better known than Cardy's pseudo-inspiration it was also the stronger composition with the all-white background and the removal of the weird robot pentacle thing in the background. The clothing hanging from the logo is a sweet touch as well.121) DC 100 Page Super Spectacular #61971 -- Neal AdamsAnd hey, speaking of homages, it's our second in a row. To be honest, I nearly left this cover off the list entirely, because for my money the original (All-Star Comics #16) is better than the copy. I appreciate the fact that Adams has the Golden Age characters on the back cover and the Silver Age versions on the front, and the black background is nice and everything, but to me, it's kind of just a bunch of heroes standing there. Still, I've seen this cover cited numerous times by older DC fans as being a top cover; apparently it was a big deal at the time. Because of this consensus of opinion I included this cover on my list. Not my favorite, though.TOMORROW: #120-111: "Love, 1971"! "Rex the Wonder Dog"! And "The Secret House of Sinister Love"? GETTING YOUR EX GIRLFRIEND BACK: THESE 3 TIPS COULD HELP YOU RECONNECT WITH HER by Star Smith
One of the most painful things a man can experience in his lifetime is breaking up with a cherished girlfriend. Whether you saw it coming or not isn't really important right now. Your heart is aching and you're experiencing the feeling of intense loneliness without her by your side. This situation is severely impacting your happiness right now.
You're probably sitting there trying your best to think of ways to get your ex girlfriend to come back to you. I'm sure your first instinct is to go on over to her house and try to reason with her so she'll take you back. Before you do something you'll regret later, take a moment to consider some things first:
1) Are you focusing mostly on the breakup and not what caused the breakup?
Your gut is telling you to do something that will end this painful situation quick. I can see why you'd feel that way. Nobody likes feeling heartache. Your natural tendency is to focus on the physical separation between you two. Take a moment, though, to think about all the things that may have led to you two splitting up. Relationships don't fall apart for no reason.
What kind of problems were you having before things got to this point?
What did you argue about the most?
When did things turn from good to bad?
Answering these questions honestly will help you figure out what went wrong and how you might be able to improve those things and get back on track.
2) Realize that this is an opportunity for you to improve your life
Your mind is a powerful thing and you can control how you handle your current situation. Instead of depression and anxiety, choose to be empowered and enlightened. Everyone has something about themselves they can work on. Your broken heart can not only heal, but you can become a generally happier person if you choose to be that way.
Start paying attention to the way you look and feel everyday. If you can stand to lose a few pounds, then now is the time to focus on getting in shape. If you know you need to stop smoking or drinking too much, then now is a good time to work on these issues. If you want to expand your knowledge, then take a class or go to the library and borrow books on interesting topics.

The Community Leadership Project is a three year investment strategy by Packard, Hewlett, and Irvine foundations to strengthen the organizational and leadership capacities of small organizations serving low-income people and communities of color in the San Joaquin Valley, the Central Coast and the San Francisco Bay Area in California. Twenty-seven (27) intermediaries were funded to provide core financial and tailored support to small to mid-size nonprofits to build five capacities: adaptive, leadership, operational/management, programmatic, and community/collaborative. Ten intermediaries were funded under the leadership strategy.
The Leadership Learning Community, partnered with Social Policy Research Associates on an evaluation research project, and recently completed an interim report on Developing Leaders of Color in Low-Income Communities. We identified promising practices in outreach and recruitment; and in culturally relevant and accessible leadership supports. Here is a summary of some of our learning.
OUTREACH AND RECRUITMENT: A number of factors enable successful outreach and recruitment.
* An organizational presence in the region. Leadership programs that are physically present in a region have an easier time recruiting participants. When programs expand into a new region, they often succeed more in their recruitment efforts when they have a local partner. Gaining an effective presence takes time to cultivate new relationships.
* A network of alumni in the region. Alumni are the best ambassadors for recruiting new participants; they can speak openly about the value of the program, and encourage and support their peers to apply and participate. When hard-to-reach leaders hear about a program from someone they know, they are more likely to trust the benefits of the program.
* An investment of time and resources in building relationships. Intermediary staff spend up to a year or more cultivating relationships with potential participants. It takes time to build trust and to find the right time to participate if you are the leader of a small nonprofit.
* A flexible and supportive application process. Not everyone is ready to apply at the same time. When programs are flexible in the application process (e.g., rolling applications), they see an increase in the number of applicants.
* Language accessibility. In non-native English speaking communities, programs are less accessible if outreach materials, applications, and calls are not carried out in the native language of the person applying. Language accessibility is also important during the program, and may take the form of simultaneous translation or encouraging native language to make a point that can not be made as easily in English.
* Compensating participation. When economic times are tough, minimal fees and lack of childcare or transportation can prevent people from participating in a program. Compensating leaders for childcare, transportation, and time lost from work enables participation by those who are financially insecure.
CULTURALLY RELEVANT AND ACCESSIBLE LEADERSHIP SUPPORTS FOR LEADERS OF COLOR: Some learning about cultivating culturally relevant and accessible leadership supports.
* Adapt leadership supports to fit the context and needs of the leader and the organization. If you target leaders of color, they may need different types of leadership support if they are working within a larger nonprofit, or if they are a grassroots leader in an organization with no paid staff. When organizations are too small, too new or too under-staffed, they have difficulty participating in formal leadership programs; coaching may be more worthwhile.
* Provide coaching and mentoring. Often new leadership emerges in communities, with no one to coach or mentor them to develop their personal leadership style, build an organization, and build relationships with others in the community. Coaching and mentoring can build confidence and connections; even regular calls to check in between sessions of a program can make a big difference in supporting emerging leaders of color to feel more comfortable in a formal program.
* Use culturally accessible and relevant assessment tools. Leadership assessments that guide self-reflection, and that provide feedback about leadership behaviors from others are important tools for setting goals and making leadership changes. Many assessment tools are not designed for assessing leadership in small, grassroots organizations that are committed to social justice and social change. My Healthy Organization (used in CLP evaluation) is an organizational assessment tool that was designed with grassroots social justice organizations in mind.
* Practice circle methodologies. Circle methodologies build trust and social capital. Leaders get to know one another in personal and authentic ways across differences and boundaries. Reflective check-ins enable leaders who come from different classes, races, and cultures to talk openly about where they come from, the oppression they have experienced, and give voice to their own feelings and cultural analysis.
* Learn experientially with others. Experiential learning with a peer group enables leaders and organizations to try new things and process what they learn with each other. When the group is diverse and the learning container is healthy, the pace and depth of learning grows exponentially, often leading to innovative solutions and more significant community level results.
What are you learning about effective outreach and recruitment in communities of color, immigrant communities, and low-income communities? What leadership supports have you found support transformative change for leaders of color, their organizations, and their communities?

Self help is a paramount subject for any woman. In the past, women issues were not something that counseling centers, books and universities seemed to be working.
Today, self esteem is a movement and a significant industry. Women in many countries are taking up new values, thanks to what they learned by reading self-improvement books. They change the values of their traditional cultures and are not obedient to their husbands. The globalization of equality of gender seems to be here to stay.
Women had no clue about why their problems were not something that was part of the titles of books. The reason is that only men held jobs. The economy and industry were male driven too.
These are things of the past, for today women can find plenty of books about self esteem and many other subjects. Women can talk about these themes in the open as men do. They can now grow spiritually because none of us is perfect.
Women now can identify problems and support one another easily. Marginalization and objectification are some of the women issues that advertising and media are addressing every day. They need the help of women who are where they want to be.
Oprah Winfrey is addressing this issue in her show. She is offering extremely useful self-help information for women.
Self Help Information for Women - Final words
Oprah does not allow women use a negative language towards men; instead, she focuses her attention on the solutions that women need to overcome their problems. She also raises awareness about many more issues and not just self esteem for women.
An extraordinary book is The Ego and Mechanisms of Defense. Its author is Anna Freud, the daughter of Dr. Sigmund Freud. This book is one of the best that any woman may read.

There is no escaping the pain of a broken heart after a relationship ends and even if you know that the break-up is the right solution, it won't stop you from feeling lost, lonely and experiencing regrets. It's important that you face your emotions however and grow from the experience if you wish to move on to bigger and better things. It's a cruel twist to the ending of a long relationship that there has to be so much emotional turmoil especially when once upon a time, your relationship seemed water tight and no evidence of cracks in sight. The emotions you might expect to feel are disappointment, grief and the stress of starting over. Being single is a scary time. You might find that you are in uncharted territory. Everything seems alien and nothing is sacred anymore. The road ahead seems uncertain. You have practical issues to consider possibly selling your home and finding a new place to live. If you have children, you have responsibilities for their well-being and you may even have thoughts about whether you will ever meet someone and be able to love and trust them again. You have to understand that it's ok to have this multitude of feelings. Your emotions might sweep through a wide range - from anger, sadness, frustration and pain. These emotions will gradually ease in time once you have taken your first tentative steps into the unknown. It's important to remember that you are not superwoman either. You may not be as productive as you would usually be and that's because you are dealing with the loss of your relationship. You need time to heal. Talking to others is important however. Being able to share your hurt with others, friends and family etc is essential during this time. A problem shared after all, is a problem halved. ] Every break up is understandably different but your feelings and the depth of them will echo the sentiments of women the world over. Don't fight your feelings though because suppressing them will only make the healing process more drawn out. Remember that you still have a future ahead of you and that in time you will come to embrace that but you have the stepping stones towards your new future to still clamber over. If you can avoid being in touch with your ex partner, so much the better. This may be difficult if you have children but it's a good idea to have a complete break and some breathing space before encountering him again. This will give you time to settle into your new single status a little more. Don't expect your emotions to be settled immediately. Once you have taken care of all of the practical aspects of your old relationship, then you can contemplate how to not simply cope with your new situation but to turn it into a positive. Adopting a positive attitude will make the process much easier. Take time out from the dating scene for a while even if your ex seems to have moved on and has found someone else. Remember that it's not a competition and you don't have to do anything that you are not ready to. Ideally, you need to immerse yourself in your new life and find a sense of stability and inner happiness before you encounter a new romance because otherwise, you will find that your old romance and your new one will still be inextricably linked in your emotions and you will struggle to let go of past issues. It's always important to establish what went wrong and to identify how you could have made things different if at all possible, this analysis will help you to effectively deal with the hurt and grief and to close the door on the past. In time, your broken relationship will become the instigator of a positive time to come, but you can't cheat the healing process or avoid it because you need to be whole again if you want to enter into a healthy and loving relationship in the future.

He might have played one of TV's most dependable (and dreamiest) big brothers on the classic sitcom "The Brady Bunch", but actor Barry Williams is probably due for a session of sensitivity training after sticking his foot all the way down his throat by suggesting he'd "go transgender" to generate publicity for his new reality series.
Williams spoke on camera with Huffington Post's Ricky Camilleri to promote" A Very Barry Branson", a series for the Great American Country network which documents his efforts to stage a '70s-themed musical revue in nostalgia-loving Branson, Missouri. The 60-year-old actor became visibly uncomfortable when asked about rumors of a bitter custody battle with an ex-girlfriend, yet Camilleri continued to push for answers.
"We don't have time for all of that rigamarole and sorting it out. I want to find out if Bruce Jenner is going to become a woman or not," Williams stated, to steer the conversation in another direction with what was presumably an attempt to combine humor and gossip surrounding another icon from the '70s.
"That guy is committed. He is committed to promoting himself. And I'm thinking, maybe, I don't know, I could say -- I'm just saying, if this thing doesn't work, and the series isn't doing as well as I want, I'm going transgender," Williams suggested.
To his credit, Camilleri informed the entertainer that transitioning is a "difficult emotional process."
Still, Williams was undaunted and unapologetic. "I'm an actor, I can handle it," he said.
For the record, despite countless articles in magazines, newspapers and other outlets that usually quote anonymous sources close to him, former Olympics champ Jenner has yet to make his own public announcement that he identifies as transgender so anything you read is purely speculation.
Also, it's unlikely that Williams is transphobic, just perhaps trans-ignorant. He merely tried to make a very clumsy, ill-informed joke. Many celebs, even one with the manageable fame of the erstwhile Greg Brady, tend to breathe rarefied air and can be completely oblivious to the delicate sensitivity that should greet such a personal journey as the one Jenner might be on. We're pretty sure that Williams' TV siblings Cindy (Susan Olsen) and Peter (Christopher Knight) would be on the right side of this discussion, though.
Watch the interview with Williams below.
Most women think that guys don't talk about their relationships when they spend time with each other, but you are dead wrong. We talk about you and we usually only talk about the things that guys hate about girlfriends. Why? Well, because if we told them how great you are in bed and that you cook us every meal we eat, they'd probably make a beeline for you behind our backs. And no man wants that. So what are the things guys hate about girlfriends? The following: THINGS GUYS HATE ABOUT GIRLFRIENDS #1YOURE A DICTATOR From telling him that he should change his shirt to lecturing him on why he needs to put the Doritos down, most men don't enjoy being treated like children (AND THOSE WHO DO PAY BIG BUCKS FOR IT). If you happen to be the kind of girl who wears the pants in the relationship, take them off every now and then, and put on a skirt. We like to feel like we're in a balanced relationship, not one where we live in constant fear of being reprimanded by our woman. THINGS GUYS HATE ABOUT GIRLFRIENDS #2YOU KEEP HIM FROM HIS BOYS If he wants to hang out with the guys and you're always thinking up reasons why he shouldn't, or, worse, insulting them every time he mentions them, he will begin to resent you. All guys like to have a morsel of freedom and the minute you take that away from him, you're going to feel the wrath of his bitterness. There's nothing wrong with your guy hanging out with the boys... yes, even if they're all single. Unless he's a complete moron, he can't be talked into cheating on you, and if he can, he wanted to do it anyway. THINGS GUYS HATE ABOUT GIRLFRIENDS #3YOU TALK TOO MUCH It's one thing to have an intellectual debate about the way children are being raised nowadays, but if the majority of your conversations center around you and people he's never heard of, your voice will begin to get on his nerves. Try to keep your discussions interesting enough that he'll want to participate. Remember: If he hasn't said a word in five minutes, it's because he's tuned you out and has no interest in Kathy, Joanne, Tonya, and all the other girls who are so jealous of you at work. THINGS GUYS HATE ABOUT GIRLFRIENDS #4YOU FOCUS ON MONEY It's one thing if the two of you sit down once a month to budget your living expenses, but it's a whole other ballgame if money is the focal point of all your topics of interest. Every man's biggest fear is that you're only with him to cash in, and if you are constantly jabbering on about how much everything costs and how your friend's boyfriend bought her a car, he will become anxious and annoyed, and might even bid you farewell. It has recently been reported that both Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton have been advised and treated by hypnotherapists for pregnancy issues. Kate Middleton visited a hypnotherapist to help deal with the extreme morning sickness that she was suffering with. For quite a different reason, Kim Kardashian had hypnosis as she was beginning to feel very anxious about giving birth. Kim actually got the idea about hypnosis after she had heard about Kate Middleton using it successfully and thanks the admiration she has for Kate thought she would give it a go. It is easy to understand that being pregnant while being completely under the public's scrutiny can cause anxiousness and ill feelings about pregnancy. Any psychological help which deals with controlling stress levels can only have a positive experience for the mother and baby. It is common knowledge that calm and relaxed prospective mothers, will have a far more enjoyable and less stressed out birthing experience. It's clear why hypnosis has become so popular for birthing issues. In my mind, hypnosis is the fastest and most and effective intervention for the treatment of anxiety, pain and even " in voluntary" sickness that is experienced through pregnancy. Prospective mothers all over the world, no doubt look forward to the day they give birth to their child, more than any other day in their lives, yet at a time of such excitement and elation, fear and anxiety are also common feelings, common, yet unwanted. The very fact that hypnosis and hypnotherapy deals with the subconscious mind directly and that hypnosis is synonymous with relaxation it's clear why so many prospective parents turn to hypnosis for help. It simply seems like there are no downsides to using hypnosis throughout pregnancy for any issues. It is an effective and proven intervention which does not rely upon any medicines or hormonal changing compounds to enter the body. Hypnosis is all natural, and so is pregnancy and childbirth. The two really do go hand-in-hand. The post Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton Turn to Hypnosis Through Pregnancy appeared first on Michael Sweet.

Happy December SONEs!
2013 is ending soon and what's better than ending it with a new Japanese album?
It's been a year since my last review and now I am back with the review of Girls' Generation's 3rd Japanese Album-"Love ">
"The album"The front" The back"
Now you get what I meant by candy box.
It looks like a big box of fun, right? It is about as big as a novel, slightly thicker.
"Side View"
Now let's have a look at the inside....
"Going down: CD, Box with posters and badges, Lyrics Booklet"The CD"Open it.... "The Discs"The other side...."
Next is the LYRICS BOOKLET..."Pink Lyrics Booklet!"Sneak Peek(s)!" Tiffany" Yuri, Taeyeon and Hyoyeon"
And then is this box with the POSTERS and BADGES...
The badges are cute but some of them fell off "(probably during delivery)", so if the sequence is different, you know why.
"9 Individual Badges"
The posters are folded and there are 9 of them.
"Sneek Peek 2!"
That's all for the packaging.I really like the hard casing! Feels very secure. And it feels like Christmas came earlier for me.
Moving on, it's time for the songs.I think it brings a different feeling compared to their 1st or 2nd Japanese album.Perhaps they tried a fancier kind of music style?I heard many different sounds from this album.
GOSSIP GIRLS- Remember what I said about different sounds? This song sounds weird to me, not in a bad way though. It reminds me of "F(x)"'s style; the fancy vocals and tune.
MOTORCYCLE- I really love Seohyun's voice in this song. And the tune is really catchy. Part-rap-part-singing of this song is really cool. Probably one of my favorite in this album. Ride on this song!
FLYERS- I call this the anime OST. It feels like it gives the anime characters the energy to win the battle or competition" (or something like that)". My favorite part of the song is during the Higher~" in the chorus. Such motivation!
GALAXY SUPERNOVA- "Dududurududuu" on the way to becoming the perfect girls in the galaxy! Taeyeon's voice in this song is awesome.
LOVE">
BEEP BEEP- I really like the flow and the music of this song. It is also easy to follow. "Hello hello moshi moshi ciao ciao busy busy!" But we are never too busy to listen to their music!
MY OH MY- Tiffany's voice in this song is really good. In fact, I think everybody's voice in "My Oh My" is really good.
LIPS- This song is so sexy. It is a light song and it feels a little bit reggae-ish" to me. And this song got "Can't stop thinking about you, This must be what crazy feels like." stuck in everyone's head.
DO THE CATWALK- Tutorial to the perfect catwalk. The singing style is really interesting. I love the falsettos, too. It gives me a feeling to look up, lift my chest and just catwalk!
KARMA BUTTERFLY- This song gives out an Usher" (The American artist)" feel. Like a mix-up of DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again, no?
LINGUAFRANCA- Honestly, I think this song can fit in well the 2nd Japanese album, not that it doesn't in this album, though. Don't you think it sounds so "peace-inducing"?
EVERYDAY LOVE- The "ONLY" ballad in this album. Which is why all of us appreciate this song so much. When I heard this song, I feel all warm, fuzzy and so loved. I even feel like hugging someone. Somehow, the beat reminds me of a Kelly Clarkson's song.
Those are MY OWN OPINION about this album. I apologize if it clashed with yours. But this is a really good album;" I love it."This album still needs more repeats, so SONEs, please PURCHASE THIS ALBUM or DOWNLOAD IT LEGALLY to support our girls!
By the way, please excuse the background of the photos, I was really excited about the album I didn't move away from my bed to get the wooden table. That is all for the review! I hope you guys liked it.
Till the next time, probably next year's Korean comeback" (Please!)"?Thank you all for reading! Signing off and stay warm everyone!
